TWC (The Washington Center) Building the TOMODACHI Generation Engaging U.S. and Japanese University Students in Social Problem-Solving
The Washington Center (TWC) and the USJI are co-sponsors for Building the TOMODACHI Generation (BTG) , a two week program aimed at U.S. and Japanese university students which utilizes continuous communication amongst participants as a vehicle for learning about leadership theory, the role of civil society and other topics. The USJI has started this program since FY2013, selected and sent around 12 outstanding students from sponsoring universities, and TWC has selected 9 participants from U.S. universities.
BTG program 2018-19 was held in Washington D.C. from February 16th to March 4th where 12 Japanese students from USJI affiliated Universities together with 9 American students had their group presentations.
On the last day of the program, Japanese students successfully gave presentations for donators.

For those who want to apply for the Building the Tomodachi Generation Program for 2019 to 2020, please consult at the each relevant section of USJI affiliated Universities from mid May to mid July in each year.
