Akiko Shigemoto

Akiko Shigemoto is a Ph.D. candidate in Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School in New Jersey. She has been a Fulbright scholar since 2009. Her research interests are corporate social responsibility, business ethics and corporate governance with a focus on multinational corporations. Prior to joining Rutgers, she was an investigator with the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) of the Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan. She also built up a broad experience at Salomon Smith Barney, Moody’s, and Microsoft within her research interests. She earned her M.A. in Economics and B.A. in Business Administration from Meiji University, Tokyo, Japan.
