Sachio Nakato is a Professor in College of International Relations at Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan. His research interests include international political economy in general, U.S.-Japan-Korea relations and international relations in Northeast Asia. His current research interest is on a comparative study of Japanese and Korean response to U.S. pressure in the beef industry. Professor Nakato is a graduate of Ritsumeikan University, American University, and State University of New York at Oneonta. He also graduated from Korean Language Institute at Yonsei University. His recent publications include “Lessons from U.S.-South Korean Free Trade Agreement for Japan’s FTA Strategy: Future Prospect for U.S.-Japan Free Trade Initiatives,” Beikan FTA to Kankoku Keizai no Kiki (U.S.-South Korea Free Trade Agreement and Crisis of Korean Economy)(2009), Koyoshobo, pp. 201-220.(Japanese) and others. Professor Nakato has been a visiting fellow as the Center for Asian Studies, American University, and Graduate School of International Service, Sookmyung Women’s University. Before joining Ritsumeikan, he taught at the Faculty of International Studies at Utsunomiya University.
