Susan Lieberman

Dr. Susan Lieberman has worked in international biodiversity conservation, at the intersection between science and policy, for more than 25 years. She held the post of Senior Director, International Environmental Policy with the Pew Charitable Trusts from August 2009 to July 2013. She led an integrated program across treaties, regional fisheries management organizations (RFMOs) and other intergovernmental organizations, including the UN, to provide science-based research, policy analysis and expertise to promote the sustainability of marine species and ecosystems, accountability and transparency, and various policy objectives. She led Pew delegations to several intergovernmental meetings, including RFMOs, the Convention on Biological Diversity, Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), International Whaling Commission (IWC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20).
