Takashi Ohde

Mr. Takashi Ohde assumed his current position in October 2003. As Hitachi’s head in Washington, DC and Los Angeles, he is responsible for representing Hitachi in government and community relations. Before taking his current position, he handled Hitachi’s global alliance businesses from Tokyo as General Manager of the Global Business Planning Division. Since entering Hitachi in 1975, he has worked continuously on developing and maintaining Hitachi’s international alliances in businesses ranging from semiconductors to nuclear power, except for the period between 1988 and 1991, which he spent monitoring European Commission developments as Assistant Manager of Hitachi’s Corporate Office in Brussels, Belgium. Mr. Ohde is currently President of the Library of Congress Asian Division Friend Society, and serves as a board member of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles Public Library. He recently served as President of the Japan Commerce Association of Washington, DC and Vice-Chairman of Washington’s Japan-America Society. Mr. Ohde received a Bachelor of Law degree from Gakushuin University in Tokyo in 1975. His additional studies include the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg Business School in 1998, and the General Manager Program at the Harvard Business School in 2002.
