Comparative Leadership of U.S.-Japan Relationship

Leader Koji Murata (Professor, Doshisha University)
Researcher Andrew Oros (Professor, Washington College)
Term September 2017 to February 2018
Research Outline

How will U.S.-Japan relationship change under President Donald Trump?
In order to answer this question, we would like to compare U.S.-Japan leadership in historical, institutional, and international contexts. We will try to examine the Ron-Yasu era of the 1980s, and the Kozumi-Bush relationship in the early 21st century. Also, we will try to extend our research to other comparison such as Anglo-American and U.S.-ROK relationship.
