Sophia University in Japan has developed a wafer bonding process that produces a thin layer of indium phosphide (InP) on silicon (Si) template that was used for the production of ~1.2μm-wavelength laser diodes (LDs) by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) [Keiichi Matsumoto et al, Jpn.
