The Chinese brand Aiways continues in its expansion project in Europe. The carmaker, already present in Italy, has announced that in 2022 it will also enter Croatia, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Slovenia. Overall, the builder will thus be present in 14 European countries. Therefore, even in new markets, customers will be able to purchase the Aiways U5 electric SUV.
The news of the debut in these four new markets follows that relating to the completion of the new financing cycle of Aiways worth hundreds of millions of dollars in January. The new investment is accelerating the development of Aiways’ business on a global level, with particular attention to entering new markets, increasing production, developing new products based on the concept of sustainable mobility, improving the customer experience. and the development of the digital skills of the brand.
Aiways U5 measure 4,680 mm long x 1,865 mm wide x 1,684 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. This electric SUV is characterized by having a powertrain with a single electric motor capable of delivering 150 kW (204 HP). There 63 kWh battery allows autonomy up to 410 km according to the WLTP cycle. The standard equipment is particularly rich as it includes, among other things, various ADAS systems, digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touch display. The SUV supports OTA updates.
In Italy, this electric SUV, distributed by Koelliker, can be purchased from 42,750 euros. In 2022, Aiways will debut a new model. It will be the new SUV Coupé Aiways U6 whose contents were anticipated in part by the Aiways U6ion concept car we talked about recently.
