Yahama has expanded the range of true wireless earphones with i TW-E5Ba model that joins the TW-E3B launched in 2021. The new model in-ear it features a curved structure designed to fit ergonomically to the ear, ensuring, according to Yamaha, a secure and adequate seal. There are buttons on both the left and right elements to control all functions.
On the left earphone we find only one that, alternating short, long presses and double taps, manages the play / pause, calls and activation of the Ambient Sound mode. On the right one there are two keys and they are used to adjust the volume, advance or return to the previous song, etc. Each earphone weighs around 6.5 grams and is IPX5 certifiedwhich indicates resistance to water, sudden rain and sweat.
Sound reproduction is entrusted to 7mm dynamic transducers, larger than the 6 millimeters we find in the TW-E3B. The structure of the TW-E5B has been designed in order to eliminate all obstacles inside the housing and to align the aforementioned transducers with the ear canal, thus favoring the natural diffusion of the audio. The earphones are obviously equipped with microphones to make or receive calls. The latter can make use of the contribution provided by Qualcomm cVc technologyacronym for Clear Voice Capture, effective in eliminating noise and canceling echo.
Like the TW-E3B, the new model also makes it available to the user Listening Care, a Yamaha technology that promises to improve listening to music even at the lowest volumes. The aim is to obtain a balanced audio signal with a yield comparable to that which can be appreciated with a higher sound pressure.
The E5Bs then add theAmbient Mode, a mode that allows you to pass the sounds coming from the surrounding environment in order not to completely isolate the listener. The news also embrace connectivity Bluetoothwhich passes here from 5.0 to 5.2 and includes A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, HSP and codec profiles SBC, AAC And aptX Adaptive (the latter was absent on the E3Bs). The functions can be controlled via the Headphone Control app for iOS and Android. Voice assistants are supported Siri And Google Assistant.
The integrated battery offers a range that can reach 8.5 hours of operation to which they are added other 21.5 hours using the supplied carrying case. In total one speaks therefore of approx 30 hours of autonomy. Fast charging via USB-C adds 1 hour of operation in just 10 minutes, while full charging takes 1.5 hours for the earbuds and 2.5 hours for the case. Included are 4 rubber pads of different sizes (XS, S, M and L) for the ears, the case and a USB-C – USB-A cable for charging.
The TW-E5Bs will be available in April in the colors blue, brown, black and gray at the indicative price of 159 euros (the Italian price list to be confirmed).
